“Lost in the labyrinth: Finding the way out using the Delian mode”

This reconstructed remix represents the concluding chapter of the Stereoscopic Poincaré series. Spanning over an hour, it features a novel arrangement of textures, voices, and sequencer patterns based on the Delian Mode system. Delia Derbyshire had a profound appreciation for the poetry of Octavio Paz. Immersed in a sonic labyrinth, this mix incorporates voices and samples from the Delian archives, graciously provided by the Center for Electroacoustic Studies in Manchester, alongside rare, unreleased sequencer patterns by Adi Newton. The final arrangement, performance, and production were executed by Mauricio Reyes.

This expansive sound sculpture offers a cerebral yet intense experience, serving as a return to a reality where truth often surpasses fiction.

This recording also serves as an introduction to Reyes’ forthcoming project, “FALLING,” which pays homage to the sound architect Delia Derbyshire.
